Obituary for Henry Montgomery Jr.

The life of Henry Montgomery, Jr. was born on July 29, 1951 in Jacksonville, Florida to the late Darthel and Henry Montgomery Sr. He received his education from the local Duval County Public School Eugene Butler Senior High School, Class of 1969. Then furthering his education at Edward Waters College obtaining his Bachelor’s degree.
Henry then begin his impeccable career with United Parcel Service in 1970 and then retired 43 years later on January 3, 2013. After retiring, Henry spent his days cooking on the grill, painting, and spending time with his family.
Henry was preceded in death by his parents, Darthel and Henry Montgomery Sr; three brothers in-law: Willie Mack, Dexter McSwain, and Larry Stepps; and grandson: Damari Mitchell. Henry leave to cherish memories: his loving devoted wife, Shelley Brinson-Montgomery; children: Travis Montgomery, Shelley Rock (Rickie), Henry Montgomery lll (Latoya), Bianca Montgomery (Jason), and Monay Montgomery; grandchildren: Tracie Montgomery, Keyon and Paris Rock, Jermani’ Reeves, Jaden and Jordan Montgomery, India Ravenel, Jayce Nixon, Amir Mitchell, and Jason Nixion, Jr; great-grandchild: Jordynn Graham; sisters: Doretha Mack, and Evon Pinckney (Sylvester); sisters-in-law: Mary Frances Stepps and Barbara McSwain; brother-in-law: Jimmy Brinson; God-grandchildren: Neiko, Kali and Kaenan Albertie; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The funeral service for Henry Montgomery Jr. will be held 12:00 P.M., Saturday, June 11th, 2022 at the
St. Matthews Baptist Church, 3731 Moncrief Rd., Jacksonville, FL 32209. The visitation will be 5-7 P.M.,
Friday, June 10th, 2022 at the Funerals by T.S. Warden, 4315 N. Main Street Jacksonville, FL 32206. Interment in Evergreen Cemetery.
