Obituary

On April 1, 2020, Irene M. Register received her crown and entered into eternal rest.

Irene was born to Gladys and Henry Moore on August 6, 1931 and was reared in Quincy, Florida.  After relocating to Fernandina Beach, she attended Peck High School.  Later, she married Willie Register, Sr. and from this union eight children were born.  She delighted in being spoiled by her children, grandchildren, great and great great grandchildren. Her amazing smile was even more radiant at the addition of each new grandchild.

She was an active member of Macedonia AME church in Fernandina Beach until relocating to Atlanta, GA.  After experiencing some health challenges in 2015, Irene resided at Southland Health and Rehabilitation until she relocated to the Upper Room.

At Southland, Irene became acquainted with a host of caregivers who doted on her daily.  She participated in a variety of activities and delighted in winning.  Her favorite pastime was spent reminiscing on the porch with family members.

Her husband and the love of her life, Willie Register, Sr. and son, Willie (Billy) Register, Jr., have previously crossed the River of Jordan and now she is united with them. The celebration of our legend will live on in the hearts of her children Marvin Register (Shelia), Markquietta Simon, Marian Davis, Iris Register, Richard Register (Jenny), Cynthia McCoy (Leon), and Adrian Register; Thirteen grandchildren; Twenty great grandchildren; Three great great grandchildren; a devoted first cousin, Eva J. Cofield; Godchild, Bertha Brown (Dollbaby); and a host of other relatives and friends.

To the Register Family:

My condolences are being sent for the loss of your mom, a strong matriarch of the Register family. She was an amazing lady and I'm glad to have known her. While the family will miss her deeply, I hope each of you find comfort in the wonderful memories from the time spent together. She is loved and will be remembered by many.

Sending love, thoughts, and prayers.
