Obituary for Iris Renee "Renee" Jones
Iris Renee Jones was born on June 25, 1959 to Betty Jean and Elder Neal Jr. in Jacksonville Florida. She attended local schools in Duval County. Graduating from Jean Ribault in 1977, she furthered her education at Edward Waters College. She was employed with the Jacksonville Sheriff office and retired after working several years for the Duval County School Board.
Renee excepted Christ at an early age at the Sweetfield Baptist Church and spent a lot of time singing in various churches, gospel groups, and directing the choir.
Renee departed this life on Monday, November 30, 2020 at Memorial Hospital and was preceded in death by her youngest sister, Tonia Thompson; and her mother-in-law, Mrs. Rose Lee Jones.
Renee memories will forever be cherished by her husband, Marion Jones; son, Garren Royal (Atlanta, GA); daughter, Brittani Jones; grandchildren, Xiian, Culture, Skye, Chase, and Enve; mother, Betty Jean Sheppard; sisters, Suzette Anderson (Ethan) and Sandy Neal; brothers, Glenn Neal, Leroy Sheppard Jr. (Kim), Michael Sheppard, and Clarence Sheppard; sister-in-law, Linda Edwards; brothers-in-law, Ike Jones, Ulysses Jones, and Carl Jones; aunt, Shirley Bell (Richard); uncle, Ervin Johnson (Mary); and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends including her close friend and sister, Colette Mincey.
The funeral service for Iris Renee Jones will be held 11:00 am Saturday, December 12th, 2020 at the New Life Evangelistic Center, 8040 Lone Star Road, Jacksonville, FL 32211. The visitation will be 5-7:00 pm, Friday, December 11th, 2020 at the New Life Evangelistic Center, 8040 Lone Star Road, Jacksonville, FL 32211. Interment in Edgewood Cemetery.
