Life and Legacy of the of mama

We are sharing with you the heart of our mother. She was so much more to us than the hats she wore. Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Friend, Church Lady, DIVA, Inspiration and Motivator.
She is the solid rock of our family, who spoke her mind one who was grounded in the Lord and a powerful prayer warrior. Although her life begun with challenges it did not stop this mighty woman of God from living life on her terms. Jackie Lee was given the name “tiny” by our father the Rev. Alphonso Parker, Sr. because of her medical challenges as a child and her small frame.

Who is Jackie Lee?
On April 17, 1943, at 7:40 a.m. the Lord released His child to us, by granting a blessing to The Late John Green and Elizabeth Thomas Green. Our mama was born in Dixie County, Camp 39 by midwife Amanda Hall. Today her birth location is listed as Cross City the water town outside of Lake City. Jackie Lee was raised with her aunts and cousins after her mother gave Jackie to “mama” which is The Late Hattie Austin. She lived during a time when family tides were unbreakable. She lived with her grandparents in MacClenny, Florida, Lake City and later Jacksonville, Florida. She was educated in MacClenny Florida and the was unable to complete studies as a youth, but our mother was driven and she completed high school by attending night school.
She married her high school sweetheart The Late Rev. Alphonso Parker, Sr. God poured out blessings and they have 6 gifted children. Later they adopted Kelly Regina Parker. Mama was called home on February 2, 2023, where she joined her parents; grandparents, uncles, aunts, sister The Late Carolyn Green Williams and other relatives.

Our mother loved her family, and everyone called on Aunt Jackie. Children in our family loved coming to Auntie Jackie’s house because there was always toys and candy. Everyone who met her that could get through the rough stuff, had an opportunity to know the heart of our mother. She kept it real, and family came first. She fulfilled her cousin the Late Betty Ann to take care of Big Lois and her children. (Cedric, Dana, Troy Collins, Anthony Virgil, and Late Darrell Collins.

Our mother always worked provided for us and herself. She made sacrifices that have never be told. She adopted all kind of children into our family. Everyone who met her got a story to tell. Just like so many women in our family my mom was a domestic worker and always remained in the helping field. She started working with her grandmother (The Late Hattie Austin) as a seasonal worker and travelled to New York, Belle Glade, and many cities within Florida. “The Murphy” who adopted us into their family. Later she worked for Duval County School Board (Northwestern and Eugene Butler) until she was hurt. She joined the Gateway Community services team from 1990-2023. She was our family chef and known for everything she cooked. Specialty corn bread, collard greens, mac and cheese and famous bread pudding. If you asked her what she cooked best, she would say everything.

she was known as Our mom served as the Mother of our church, faithful prayer warrior, Nursing Home Ministry, Praise Team, Evangelism and mission ministry and most valuable member. Yes, our mother loved the Lord and didn’t mind dancing, singing and telling you about His goodness. My mother worked in the ministry that God gave her. Transporting children to church, youth director, leader, advisory to us and the children in our family as she ushered them to church to learn about the love of God. Once you were old enough to walk, talk mama lea us to the True and Living God.

Who Is Jackie Lee she was known as “Mama”

My mama was an ole time disciplinarian. My mom would often say “your list is adding up and behold early in the morning she woke you with her cord of correction. Our mother was our rock. Mama was so much to so many, and nothing can take that away for each of us. Mama had her own style, flavor, and flare. Mama loved the Lord, and it showed in her service.
She was an active member of Trinity Deliverance Worship Center where she served as our Mother of the Church, Trustee and Missionary until the Lord called her home. She also served God through ministry at New Galilee Missionary Baptist Church under leadership of the Late Rev. J. W. Carter. Tom Brown Choir; Trustee board; deaconess; missionary; director of youth department; kitchen help and worked wherever she was needed. She also served at Bibleway; St Stephen AME Church and Greater Bethany where she served under Pastor Darryl Edwards. She was known to do whatever was needed for the ministry; she served as deaconess, missionary and kitchen help.

She leaves to cherish the footprints that she made in the life of her six children: Alphonso Jr(Terra); Juanita; Gerry (Roslyn); Carolyn; Altoney (Heather); Christopher and adopted niece Kelly Regina Parker. 19 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 4 step grands and 3 step great grands. Extended family Byron Trice( New York) and Alfred Jones. Two brothers Mack McDougle (Georgia); Larry Green (Annie); Three sisters Barbara Joann Dozier; Francis Wyman and Barbara Roberts. Her godchildren; Vanetta Flexis-Grier and Deborah Thomas. Lifetime Best Friends Barbara Robinson and Beulah Patterson. Host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

Who is Jackie Lee?

Our mother will always be known as a woman of love.
Our mother came into the world and had to fight, and she never gave up. She made the pots sing and our lips rejoiced.
