Obituary for James "Jamil - JB" Barnhardt

Print
James “Jameel - JB” Barnhardt was born on February 7, 1965 in Newark, New Jersey to Georgia Barnhardt and James Barnhardt. He relocated to Florida with his mother and 2 siblings, Rebecca and Malik in 1983 where he attended and graduated from Sandalwood High School.

Jameel joined the United States Marine Corps in 1985. During his time in service, he received Marksman Honors in Sharpshooting. A veteran of the Gulf War, he received an Honorable Discharge. Jameel was employed with Maxwell House Coffee as a Line Coordinator for many years.

Jameel met and married Sybrina Louise Williams of Jacksonville, Florida on December 16, 1994. They were married for 22 years and raised five children between them.

Jameel was loving, mild mannered, helpful and thoughtful. He was handsome, charming, charismatic, low key and extremely patient. He had a smile that would light up the room. He loved telling jokes with the family and was full of wisdom, joy and laughter. JB was always encouraging others, supportive, hardworking, and a great provider. As you can see, Jameel had many characteristics and names that described those characters I.e. James, Jimmy Mac, Smily, Jameel, Jamal, JB and sometimes Frank! Jameel was very private he kept more secrets than the secret service and only shared with those he trusted. When he told you something, you felt like it was privileged information. Jameel's discipline allowed him to stand strong and deal with any adversity that came his way. Life may have dealt him some altering situations but he continued to stand strong and never allowed it to diminish his character. Jameel made his transition to eternal life on Friday, September 16, 2016.

Jameel leaves to cherish loving memories his wife, Sybrina Louise Barnhardt; mother, Georgia Barnhardt ; father, James Barnhardt; children LaShanta, Jamilya, Cornelius (deceased), Shanell (deceased), and Carlos; grandchildren, Cornell, Cor’niah, Ryan, Kaelin, Chloe, Cedrick, Jamyla, and Dallas; godchildren, Pershayne and Dewayne; brother, Malik Barnhardt; sister, Rebecca Gonzalez; mother-in-law, Henrietta Randolph; sister-in-laws, Barbara (Rick) Wells and Cheryl Hanson; aunt, Sheila Bell; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
