Obituary for James Terrance "Pop" Bentley

To everything there is a season, and time to every purpose under the Heavens. Ecclesiastes 3:1

A Time To Be Born: Mr. James Terrance Bentley was born to the late Mr. James Bennie Bentley and Belinda Bentley McIntosh in Jacksonville, Florida on April 5, 1969.

A Time To Live: Mr. Bentley was educated in the Public Schools of Duval County. He served in the US Army for 8 years and during that time, he fought for his county in the "Operation Desert Storm” mission". He furthered his education at ITT Technical Institute where he received his technical degree. He was a diligent employee at Select Portfolio Serving for over16 years.

A Time To Enjoy: Mr. Bentley was first and foremost a "MAMA'S BOY". He loved and doted on his mother. He found a great delight in boasting to his sisters that he was the FIRST BORN and FAVORITE CHILD. He loved family time. His "claim to fame" was "Grill Master". He loved dancing, singing, and being the life of any gathering. He was a sport fantastic..... And his favorite team was those "Dallas Cowboys". James was a humble being who found great joy in hanging with the fellas who cared about him as much as he did them.

A Time To Go Home: James was preceded in death by his father, Mr. James B. Bentley and his son (Master) James Tyler Bentley. Mr. Bentley departed life here on earth February 28, 2022 @ 4:11 am to his final resting place.

A Time To Remember: Mr. Bentley leaves to cherish his memories: Mother, Belinda McIntosh; Sisters: Angelina Brown and Keyla Gallman (Jason Sr.); Daughter: Sharania Gathers; Uncle: Kenneth Bentley (Gail); A host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; special "Pops" Alvin Timmons and special friend, Cheryl Short.

The funeral service for James Terrance Bentley "Pop" will be held 11:00 am Saturday, March 12th, 2022 at the Samuel C. Rogers, Jr. Memorial Chapel, 4315 N Main Street, Jacksonville, FL 32206. The visitation will be 5:00 - 7:00 pm , Friday, March 11th, 2022 at the Funerals by T.S. Warden, 4315 North Main Street, Jacksonville, FL 32206. Interment in Edgewood Cemetery.
