Obituary for James R McDade
Mr. James R. McDade (“J.R.”) was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 15, 2020. He was born on July 26, 1937 to his mother, Katie Mae McDade in New York. He later moved to Jacksonville, Florida with his first wife.
Mr. McDade was a World War II Veteran and served in the military for 36 years until he retired. He worked for NAS as a manager for over 26 years, while there he also worked on Saturday’s and Sunday’s repairing planes for 10 years.
Mr. McDade was a member of New Palmer Grove Full Gospel Baptist Church. He was a special husband to his wife, Mrs. Veronica B. McDade and they loved each other.
Mr. McDade leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Veronica Butler McDade; 14 daughters, 10 sons, 30 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 2 sisters; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, special friends, son and goddaughter, Pastor Dr. L. C. Pressley and Co-Pastor Dr. Joan Pressley.
The funeral service for James R. McDade will be held at 11AM, Saturday, September 5th, 2020 at the Samuel C. Rogers, Jr. Memorial Chapel 4315 N. Main Street.
