James Eugene Priester affectionately known as “Mookie” was born on January 17, 1961 to James Sr. and Julia in Jacksonville, Florida. James attended Andrew Jackson High School where he was Head Drum Major for the Class of 1979. James also served in the United States Army. He was employed as Production Lead for Standard Precast, Inc. until his death.

James was well known for having that listening ear when needed the most. His kindness, generosity to others, sense of humor and don’t forget his sense of fashion.

James departed this life on Sunday, December 16, 2018. He was preceded in death by his brother, Clifford Priester.

James leaves to cherish loving memories: daughter, Courtney Priester; three grandchildren, Malia, Aurora and Elena; devoted mother, Julia Priester; father, James Priester, Sr. (Dora); brother, Timothy Priester (Patrice); sisters, Latashua Priester and Mary Hanks; a special nephew, Tirion Mccray; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and special friends, Phyllis Jordan, Leasa Clark and David Gay.
