Obituary for James Columbus Williams

James Columbus Williams was born in Madison, Florida on February 26,1950 to his parents, David Delaughter and Eloise Ketter. He confessed Christ at an early age. He attended school in Jacksonville, FL and received his education at Florida State College at Jacksonville. Master Sargent Williams received an honorable discharge, retiring as a decorated soldier after twenty four years of faithfully serving his country. He was an honor guard, a duty only bestowed upon select Army Service Men.

James later met and married Nancy Williams in Jacksonville, FL on April 10, 1971. From this union was born a son, Jeffery Herring, and daughters, Mary Wilson and Tamiko Williams.

James departed this life on Monday, January 9, 2023, and was preceded in death by his daughter, Chquita Williams and mother, Eloise Ketter. He leaves to mourn his wife, Nancy Williams; son, Jeffery Herring; daughters, Mary Wilson and Tamiko Williams. Father, Rev. David Dealughter; sisters, Joann Jackson, June Thomas, Beverly Ketter, and Daveta (Lucky) Delaughter; brothers, Herbert Williams (Sarah), Dan Ketter (Darlene), Terry Ketter, Micah Ketter (Stacey), Lewis Moore (Alena), Donald Delaughter (Gloria), Charlie Delaughter (Linda), Michael Delaughter (Jackie), and Robin Delaughter (Terry); sons-in-law, James Fourte and Jay Wilson; daughter-in-law, Alfreda Gambel; special aunt, Roberta Wilson; nineteen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
