Jane Njeri Ngugi was born in Kisumu, Kenya on December 9, 1980 to Nelphat Mbiyu Ngugi and Elizabeth Wairimu Ngugi. She confessed Christ at an early age on May 11, 2008 at St. Thomas Parish in Washington, DC. She attended schools in Xaverian, primarily Jomo Kenyatta High School in Kenya and received her education at The Catholic University of America in the District of Columbia.

Jane later met and married Tim Bergstrom on August 13, 2005 in Nairobi, Kenya. From this union was born one son, Karl Ngugi Bergstrom.

Jane departed this life on Saturday, June 20, 2020 and was preceded in death by her father, Nelphat Mbiyu Ngugi and brother, Paul Ngugi. She leaves to mourn her passing her son, Karl Ngugi Bergstrom; Mum, Elizabeth Wairimu Ngugi; sisters, Dorothy W. Ngugi, Kathleen W. Ngugi, Anne W. Ngugi, Joan W. Ngugi, and Lucy W. Ngugi; brother, James I. Ngugi; nieces, Stacy W. Okoth, Jean Ngige, Daisy Ngige, Mica Munroe, Elizabeth Wairimu, and Cassia Prisco; nephews, Kai Mbiyu and Dave Mbiyu; grandnephew, Sai Mbiyu; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The funeral service for Jane Njeri Ngugi will be held at 1:30 pm Friday, July 3rd, 2020 at the Samuel C. Rogers Jr. Memorial Chapel 4315 N. Main Street Jacksonville, Florida 32206. The visitation will be 5:00 - 7:00 pm, Thursday, July 2nd, 2020 at the Funerals by T.S. Warden 4315 North Main Street Jacksonville, FL 32206. Interment in Evergreen Cemetery.
