Obituary for J.C. Holsey

J.C.  Holsey
J.C. Holsey was born on December 6, 1932 in Wrightsville, Georgia to Theola Snell. He moved from Miami, Florida to Jacksonville, Florida where he met his wife, Geraldine M. Holsey and they were married in 2003. J.C. was a devoted husband of 15 years.

J.C. joined and served in Friendly Baptist Church and later it became Word Vine Christian Fellowship where he was ordained as a Deacon in January of 2005, under the leadership of Bishop Dr. Larry W. Minor. J.C. held many jobs, however; he retired from the Duval County School System in 2007.

J.C. was peacefully called to heaven on April 18, 2018. He was preceded in death by his mother, Theola Snell; one brother and two sisters.

J.C. is survived by his loving wife, Geraldine M. Holsey; his children, Herbert (Gwen) Harris of South Plainfield, New Jersey, Anita McCants of Jacksonville, Florida, Antionio Myrick of Chicago, Illinois, Carmilita Holsey of Jacksonville, Florida and Eugene Holsey of Jacksonville, Florida; sisters, Ethel M. Lamb of Jacksonville, Florida and Bobbie Snell of Jacksonville, Florida; six grandchildren, Gia Wallace, Deluth, GA, Herbert Harris III, Cinceraii Harris, South Plainfield, NJ, Ashley, Shanice, Yamesha Holsey; special godchildren, Catina Newman, Janice McKay and Lisa Williams. A host of sorrowing nieces, nephews, other loving family members and friends.

The funeral service for J.C. Holsey will be held 11AM Saturday, April 28th, 2018 at the Word Vine Christian Fellowship 2633 Van Gundy Rd. The visitation will be 5 - 7PM , Friday, April 27th, 2018 at the mortuary. Internment in Restlawn Cemeteries. Please sign the family guest book @ www.tswarden.com. Arrangements in care of Tyrone S.
