Jeffrey Michael James was born on September 19, 1981, in Jacksonville, Florida to Deloris Jean Morrison and the late Gregory Orlando James Sr. Jeffrey attended Andrew Jackson High School and Kirby Smith Middle School.

Jeffrey was affectionately known as Lil Jeff or J. Jeffrey loved sports including baseball, football, swimming, and racing go carts. He had a great throwing arm for baseball and played as a quarterback in youth football. He was also an animal lover, having both dogs and a pet iguana. He loved to smile, tell jokes, and make people happy. Jeffrey was a music lover who enjoyed all types of music, especially rap and reggae.

Jeffrey had a thankful heart; constantly thanking others for the small everyday things you would do for him. He was thoughtful and always asking how friends and family were doing; no matter his own health.

Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Gregory James Sr., grandparents, Odell Henderson, Laura Jane Henderson, Orlando Culver and LaEdwin Jones James, and uncle, Otis Henderson.

Jeff is survived by his faithful mother, Deloris Morrison; devoted stepparents, Larry Morrison and Vornice James; devoted sisters, Kimberly Whitehead and Alexis James; step-sister, Shahargony Nicole Gordon; brothers, Gregory James Jr. and Larry Morrison Jr.; aunts, Jacquelyn Henderson, Angelina Rose, Juanita Henderson, Elizabeth Swain, Gwendolyn Cole, Ethel Maxwell, Lola Bowman and Lou Culver; step-aunts, Thelma Morrison and Cynthia Williams; uncles, Michael Henderson, Jimmy Henderson, Franklyn Dopson and Adlee Raheem; and beloved cousins and friends.
