Obituary for Jerrell Dale Lucas
Jerrell Dale Lucas affectionately known as: “Rell”, “Lemon” and “J-Luke” was born on July 15, 1987, in Jacksonville, Florida.
Jerrell attended public schools of the Duval County School system, graduating from William M. Raines High School, Class of 2006 and completed classes at Florida State College at Jacksonville shortly after. He was employed at Sam’s Club (8253) for 14 years holding many positions and was known for being extremely helpful without hesitation by customers and co-workers. He loved Dogs, gardening, grilling and lawn care. He had a dimpled smile and bright eyes that would brighten any one’s day.
Jerrell departed this earthly life on May 24, 2021. He was preceded in death by his younger brother: Shelton Dale Lucas Jr.; paternal grandmother, Victoria Lucas and maternal grandfather, Charles Johnson Sr.
Jerrell leaves to cherish his memories: parents, Charlsie Johnson Lucas and Shelton Lucas; his beloved daughter, Briana Alisha Lucas, whom he lovingly called “Pooney”; sister, Seneca Lucas; grandmother, Virginia Johnson; uncles, Kenneth (Pamela), Charles Jr., Karlon (Stephanie), Christopher Johnson and Victor (Cathy) Lucas; aunts, Alma Belinda Mote and Deitra Griffin; cousins, Antwan (Ayanna) Lucas, Alexia Lombel, Marquita (Wayne) Austin, Tamela (Alonge) Holland, Santrese Lucas, Tiffany (Robert) Chatman, Ceteria, Courtney, Karlon, Karlos, Tierra, Dyjara, Kalon, Kayla and Chase Johnson, Darius Hutchins, and Donald Brown; mother of his child, Latoyia Love; best friends, Rashaad Bartley and Sgt. Timothy Stone and a host of other relatives and friends.
The funeral service for Jerrell Dale Lucas will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 4th, 2021 at the Northside Church of Christ, 4736 Avenue B., Jacksonville, FL 32209. The visitation will be 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., Thursday, June 3rd, 2021 at the Funerals by T.S. Warden, 4315 North Main Street, Jacksonville, FL 32206. Interment in Evergreen Cemetery.
