Jesse Nathaniel Collins was born in Jacksonville, Florida on October 3, 1955 to Isabella Ealey Collins and Tom Burris. Jesse attended local schools in Jacksonville, Florida. Jesse served in the United States Army from which he was discharged in 1982. Jesse was a self employed car salesman and mechanic for over thirty years.

Jesse was preceded in death by his parents, Tom Burris and Isabella Ealey Collins; and sister, Daisy Mae Burris.

Jesse leaves to cherish his memories: daughters, April Collins and Vondceda Collins (Abrevil); son, Terrence Collins; grandchildren, Abreyaunna Louis, Kiara Chappell, Javon Louis, Benjamin Chappell, Deavon Louis, and Jacob Louis; former wife and mother of his children, Schree Gary; siblings, Sharon Collins Perry, Maryann Collins Middleton, Linda Collins Tennent (Jonathan), Juanita Burris Chappelle (Dennis) of Atlanta, and Charles Burris; nephew and care giver, Walter M. Perry; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
