Obituary for Jessie B Parker

Mrs. Jessie B. Jones Parker was born on October 29, 1938 to the late Elijah and Jessie Jones. Jessie was educated at John Lewis High School in Ellaville, Georgia. She was employed by Duval Laundry, and retired after 30 years of service with All Saints Nursing Home. Jessie was a dedicated member of St. Johns Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as an Usher on District #2. Jessie was married to the late Henry Parker Sr.

Jessie departed this life on Thursday, June 22, 2017. The Angel of death descended from Heaven, closed her eyes, sealed her lips and whispered, “Come and Rest”.

Jessie’s memory will live on in the hearts of her devoted family, one daughter, Betty Jenkins (Elvis); three sons, Henry Parker, Jr. (Sheila), Johnny Parker and Antowan Parker; four sisters-in-law, Mattie Jones (Jacksonville, FL), Bertha Finley, Mary Parker (Wacissa, FL) and Linda Parker (Jacksonville, FL); two brothers-in-law, David Parker (Johnnie Mae) and Namon Parker (Janis); seven grandchildren, Kendall, Henry III, Kendra, Elvis Jr., Darrius, Elektra and Clarissa (Fred Sr.); eight great-grandchildren, Harmony, Honesty, Heaven, Haven, Henry IV, Jamaia, Celeste, Mikayla and Fred Jr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends of the family; among special cousins, Reather Clark Jones; godchildren, Doretha Adam (Joe), Cynthia Jenkins (Rayfield), Evangelist Alfreda Telfair and Percy Graham (Sharon).

The funeral service for Jessie B Parker will be held 11AM, Saturday, July 1st, 2017 at the St. John Baptist Church 740 Bridier Street. The visitation will be 5 - 7PM , Friday, at the mortuary.
