John Adam Scott was born on July 30, 1961 to Geronimo Scott and the late Mattie Anderson in Jacksonville, Florida. He graduated from Stanton Senior High School, Class of 1979. John was a member of Chaffee Road Church of Christ. He worked as a truck driver and retired after 27 years of dedicated service.

John was known for his humorous personality. Everyone he came in contact with, he would interact as though he had known them for years. We will miss his corny jokes and crazy personality.

John departed this life on Monday August 21, 2017. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jerome Scott.

John leaves to cherish his loving memories: a loving and supportive wife of 29 years, Kathy Scott; son, Eric Lewis, daughters, Tinesha Davis (Will) and Shantel Scott-Cook (Lawrence); sister, Tina Edwards; uncle, Jerome Clark (Delores); brother-in-laws, David Lewis and Eddie Lewis (Cheryl); sister-in-laws, Gwendolyn Wilson, Doris Booth and Regina Owens (Dexter); nine grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and sorrowing friends.
