Joseph Lynn “Cotton” Carter, 73, passed away June 22, 2019 after a long battle with Dementia. He was born in Jacksonville Florida on March 27, 1946 to John Dill and Mary Lee Carter. Joseph spent most of his life as a Dairy Farmer in Jacksonville until he retired and moved to Nassau County.
 
Joseph is survived by his daughter, Tanya (Chad) Locke; his son, Justin (Sheryl) Carter; grandchildren, Dustin, Mackenzie, Lane, Austin, Allison, Jessilynn, Jennifer, and Cody; great-grandchildren, Riley and Preston; 4 sisters, Annette Myers, Lavera Rhoden, Faye Strain and Carolyn Carter; and a host of many nieces and nephews.
