Joyce Pearlee Patterson Eady, was the second child of six born to the late John W. and Josephine E. Patterson. She was born June 20, 1944, in Jacksonville, Florida. She received her education in the Duval County Public School System, graduating from New Stanton High School, Class of 1963.

Joyce was employed for many years at Blue Cross Blue Shield. She was also a bus driver in Jacksonville and Orlando, Florida, a semi-truck driver and was employed at the Jacksonville Public Library.

Joyce departed this life March 21, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, John Patterson, Jessie Patterson and Jerome Patterson; nephews, Marion Young and Tracy Patterson.

Joyce leaves to cherish her memory: sons, Elton R. and Erick R. Eady (Tiffany); grandchildren, Brandon L. Eady and Brittany E. Smith (Octavious); great-grandchildren, Jermaine, Adriane and Sienna Eady; sisters, JoAnn P. Young and Janice P. Saulsby (Joseph); nephews, Cameron J. Saulsby (Maria) and Shane D. Patterson (Kimberly); nieces, Sherri J. Patterson, Shawndelle N. and Denise M. Young and Allison M. Saulsby; many other caring relatives and friends, including special friend and neighbor, Mr. Kenneth Stoney, Sr.
