Obituary

On August 11, 1925 Julia Mae was born to James Benjamin (J.B.) Lucas and Millie Hood Lucas in Pearson, Georgia. Julia was the youngest of three children. She was educated in the local schools of Atkinson County.

It was in Nashville where she met and married a widower, Albert James (A.J.) Richardson with two children, in April of 1943. She immediately became the mother of Arthur Lewis and Martha Jean. To their union, John Frank, James Curtis, Pearlie Renee and Kimberly Ann were born.

Mrs. Richardson retired from Methodist Hospital in 1989. She was active in her community and a member of the Greenland Ladies’ Club. She became a member of the Northside Church of Christ in 1989. For the past six years, she was a resident at the Riverwood Center. Julia Mae participated in activities, recreational outings and absolutely loved playing BINGO. She departed this life Friday, November 8, 2019. She was preceded in death by her parents; two older brothers, Horatio Otis Lucas and James Curtis Lucas, and her three eldest children.

Mrs. Richardson leaves to cherish her memory: three children, James “Curtis” Richardson, Pearlie R. Brown, and Kimberly A. Booker (Darryl); six grandchildren, Luster Jean Worthen-Polk (Ronnie), Arthur L. Richardson Jr. “Rickey,” Kymbre Brown, Britney Richardson, India Booker and Jordan Booker; a devoted niece, Alice Sanders of Gainesville, FL; devoted nephews, Johnny Lee Middleton of Valdosta, GA, Hayward “Buddy” Williams of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Ronnie Richardson of Gainesville, FL; great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and many very special care givers at the Riverwood Center.
