Obituary for Katheryn Arlelia Coleman

Katheryn Arlelia Coleman was born Katheryn Arlelia Strawter, to Freddie
and Helen Strawter, on November 19, 1960, in Saint Augustine, Florida. Katheryn met her
demise on January 15, 2020, and was preceded in death by her spouse, Kevin Coleman; mother,
Helen Strawter; and father, Freddie Strawter.

Kathy attended public schools in St. Augustine, FL, where she graduated from St. Augustine
High School in 1978, and later relocated to Miami, FL. Soon after she enlisted in the United
States Army, where she served four years and received an honorable discharge.

She returned to Florida and settled in Jacksonville, where she became gainfully employed by
the Federal Reserve Bank. She attended college at Florida State College of Jacksonville, where
she received an AA Degree in Finance and Accounting. She moved on to First Union Bank,
which changed to Wachovia, then Wells Fargo, there she retired in 2018, after thirty years of
employment.

Kathy accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Savior early in her life and was baptized.
She recently rededicated her life to Christ and joined fellowship with Open Arms Community
Church in 2019, under the leadership of Bishop Leofric Thomas, Sr.

She leaves to cherish and share precious memories: her son, Marque Andrae Strawter; siblings,
Vivian Powell (Cleveland), Harold Strawter (Brenda), Carolyn Miller (John), Marilyn Benitez,
Sharon Dicks (Alonza), Jacquelyn Douglas, Richard Strawter (Rhonda), and Jerry Strawter;
sisters-in-law, Dauree Coleman and Debbie Coleman; uncle, Jessie Strawter; a host of nieces,
nephews, cousins, and friends; special friends, Tish Lyons and Linda Murray; godson, Rakeem;
and special thanks and admiration for daughter-in-law, Lekeshia Phillips-Mortimer, for her
untiring dedication, commitment, and love shown to us.

The funeral service for Katheryn Arlelia Coleman will be held 12:00 pm Saturday, January 25th, 2020 at the Open Arms Community Church 2763 Dunn Ave Jacksonville, Florida 32218. The visitation will be 5:00 - 7:00 pm, Friday, January 24th, 2020 at the Funerals by T.S. Warden 4315 North Main Street Jacksonville, FL 32206. Private Interment.
