Obituary for Kathy Yvette Streater
Kathy Yvette Streater was born on August 5, 1965 to Mr. Willie, Jr. and Ruby Streater in Jacksonville, Florida. She graduated from William M. Raines in 1982 and attended Florida Junior College. She held several jobs, working in many capacities, including Goodwill where she worked for 11 years faithfully.
Kathy was a faithful member of Greater New Mount Lilla Baptist Church under the leadership of Clarence Hester, where she was a member of the usher board and active member of District II. God blessed Kathy with a son, John Hickson, who was the love of her life.
Kathy was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents; mother, Ruby J. Tarver; stepdad, Cornell Tarver; brother, Franklin Smith; sister, Linda Jackson; and her loving niece, Shaday Williams.
Memories of Kathy will be cherished by her son, John Hickson; grandchildren, Jalen and Jewel Hicks; father, Willie Streater, Jr.; sister, Gail Littles; brothers, Willie III, Sean, Lamar Streater (Marisha), Derrick Williams, Giles Jr., Andrenel Tarver (Cathy), Cornell and George Tarver; aunts, Yvonne, Mary, and Rose Jackson; uncle, Joseph Jackson; special cousins, Robert Jackson (Altamease), Diane, Gerelene, and Annette; one special nephew, Darnell Lockins and niece, Brooke Williams; a host of grandnieces and grandnephews who she so gracefully raised as her own; a host of devoted family; friends, Ransom Mikell, Victor, Eugene Frazier, Thomasina, Theresa, Tawana and their crew; and many any other loving family and friends who supported her during life.
The funeral service for Kathy Yvette Streater will be held at 11:00 am Monday, November 2nd, 2020 at the Restlawn Cemeteries South 3301 Moncrief Road West Jacksonville, FL 32208. The visitation will be 2:00 - 4:00 pm, Sunday, November 1st, 2020 at the Funerals by T.S. Warden 4315 North Main Street Jacksonville, FL 32206. Interment in Restlawn Cemeteries.
