Obituary for Katrina Maxine Johnson

Elder Katrina Maxine Johnson peacefully entered her eternal resting place on Monday, November
14, 2022, at her home in Jacksonville, Florida. She was a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, born to the
late Reverend Claiborne Preston and Jessie Mae Preston-Singleton. Elder Katrina Johnson attended and
graduated from Donaldsonville High School in Donaldsonville, Louisiana. She later relocated to
Jacksonville, Florida, where she attended Florida Community College of Jacksonville and obtained her
bachelor’s degree.
Elder Katrina Johnson had fond memories of being a majorette during her high school years. She also
loved singing and cooking, but most importantly she loved God. She was a sharp dresser too, loving her
“church hats”.
After accepting Christ as her Lord and Savior, she never looked back. Katrina went on to become an
ordained Elder. Elder Katrina attended Greater Refuge Temple, under the tutelage of the late Bishop
Groover. She also volunteered her time and talents working with Provision of Hope Outreach under her son
the visionary, Prophet Lester Witcher. If you knew Elder Katrina Johnson, she stood strong in her faith and
her reverence for God teaching her children the same. She was also someone that you could call a true
and real friend.
Elder Katrina was preceded in death by her parents Reverend Claiborne Preston and Jessie Mae Preston-
Singleton, her sister’s Mable Fisher, Joanne Molare, Florida Preston and Mary Preston Anderson, her
brother’s Charles Preston, Reverend Julius June Thompson, and Claiborne Preston Jr. She leaves to
