Landon Laney, Jr. was born on September 2, 1957 to Landon Laney, Sr. and Mary L. Landon. Landon was raised in Jacksonville, Florida and attended Long Branch Elementary, Kirby Smith Middle, and Stanton Senior High School.

Landon departed this life on Tuesday, October 20, 2015, he was preceded in death by his father, Landon Laney, Sr.; and great-grandson, Master Dionne Rackley.

Landon leaves to cherish his memories his mother, Mary L. Laney; fiancée, Bridgette Chaplin; four brothers, Anthony Laney, Tommy Laney, Charles (Lois) Laney, and Cedric Laney; niece, Mattie (Gerald) Ford; grand-nephew, Elijah Ford; eight stepchildren, Chalanda (Carlos), Frank (Summer), Anthony, Antonio, Jamaal, Adrienne (Ruby), Arnitra, and Angel; twenty-two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.

The chapel service for Landon Laney Jr. will be held 11AM Tuesday, at the Samuel C. Rogers Jr. Memorial Chapel 4315 N. Main Street. The visitation will be one hour before the service.
