Laura Faye Brooks Thomas was born March 2,1938 in Jacksonville, Florida to Mr. Willie Lee Brooks and Mrs. Charlie Mae Brooks.
Ms. Thomas received her education in Duval County Public Schools and she graduated from Matthew W. Gilbert High School.
Ms. Thomas was employed by The Florida Department of Children and Family Services as a Detention Care Worker 1 for 33 years.
Ms. Thomas leaves to cherish fond memories: daughter, Bridgette Chatman-Maple (Amos K. Sarfo); grandchildren, Kwanza L. Shedrick and Carla L. Farmer; greatgrandchildren, Brooklyn A. Parkins, Isis R. Parker, Ezra M. Shedrick, Jazmyne Parker, and Bree Tutt; sister, Delores B. Green; and a host of nephews, nieces, and cousins; devoted friends and neighbors, Dinah Taylor, Allie Woodard, Ruby Thomas, Katie Mae McClain, and Louise and Jackie Lawrence.
The funeral service for Laura Faye Thomas will be held at 11:00 am Friday, August 28th, 2020 at the Samuel C. Rogers Jr. Memorial Chapel 4315 N. Main Street Jacksonville, FL 32206. The visitation will be 10:00 - 11:00 am, Friday, August 28th, 2020 at the Samuel C. Rogers Jr. Memorial Chapel 4315 N. Main Street Jacksonville, FL 32206. Private Interment.
