Lavetra Denise Hills was born in Jacksonville, Florida November 12, 1961 to the late Delores Augustus Silas-Hills and Douglas Hills. She confessed Christ at an early age at Faust Temple Church of God in Christ. Lavetra attended schools in Duval County and received her education at Stanton and William M. Raines High Schools.
Lavetra experienced many challenges in life and faced them with incredible strength and determination. She overcame so much and poured herself into becoming who she wanted to be. Lavetra had so much personality and lived her life to the fullest on her own terms. She was always full of life and loved a good time. More than life itself, she loved her grandkids; they were her pride and joy.
Levetra departed this life on Monday, February 7, 2022. She was preceded in death by her mother, Delores Augustus Silas-Hills; father, Douglas Hills; and sister, Sandra Hills.
Lavetra leaves to cherish her memories: daughters, Katrina Lynette Hills-Denson and Marquita Lashell Tinney (Dominic Tinney); grandchildren, Jalen Denson, Sa’Mia Denson, Mya Denson, Mekhi Worship, Kaniah Davis and Dominique Tinney; brothers and sisters, Lillian (Diane) Denson, Judy Smith, Douglas (Melvin) Silas, Ivy (BeBe) Walker, Eleanor (Robin) Denson (Bruce Denson), Jimmy Hills, Carla (Debbie) Hills, Clarence Hills (Tina Hills), Clifford Johnson, Valerie Fields, Kathryn Rutledge, Beverly Andre and best friend, Kanette (Kim) Davis.
