Obituary

Obituary for Lawyer Frank Jr.

Deacon Lawyer Frank, Jr. was born August 12, 1956 to Evelyn and Lawyer Frank, Sr. in Jacksonville, Florida. Growing up in a loving family, he was nurtured and taught Christian principles. He received Christ at an early age and became a member of New Redeem Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Dr. E. I. Norman where he was baptized and served faithfully in the Male Chorus, as a Trustee, and on the Deacon Board. In 1998 Deacon Frank joined New Colossians Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor Ambrose Merkinson where he served as a Trustee and the Sunday School Superintendent until God called him home.

Deacon Frank attended public schools here in Duval County graduating from Andrew Jackson High School in 1974. After graduation he worked at Southern Bell Frozen Foods followed by a 23 year tenure at US Gypsum where he worked as a foreman until he retired. Once he retired Deacon Frank devoted his time to the church and its ministry. Lawyer Frank, Jr. was married to Betty Black for 23 years until God called her home in March of 2010.

On April 15, 2019, Our Heavenly Father called Deacon Frank home. He was preceded in death by a number of loved ones; father, Lawyer Frank, Sr.; wife, Betty; siblings, Henry Lee, James, Willie James, Sherman, and Bernard Frank.

Deacon Frank enjoyed doing ministry work for the church as well as traveling, cruising, eating, driving big cars, shopping, talking trash, watching sports and drinking a nice cold Pepsi. Deacon Frank was a very caring, dependable, humble, and humorous man. He was a loving son, husband, father, brother, uncle, friend and counselor.

Deacon Frank leaves to cherish his memories: his mother, Evelyn B. Frank; sister, Debora Mehou (George); brother, Donald (Saimai); children, Calvin Brown and Dominic Brown, Sr. (Eurachel); grandchildren, Dominic Brown, Jr., Carmoni Brown and Taeshaun Williams; sisters-in-law, Paulette Bell, Tracy Bell, Tonya Winters (LaRon) and Jennifer Frank; brothers-in-law, Robert Bell and Eugene Bell; aunts, Rebecca Frank, Mary Frank, Ethel Mae Burgess, Flora Miller (Leroy) and Myrtice Black; uncles, John Burgess (Eva), John Black and Albert Black; god brothers, Earl McCray and Larry Walker; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, including his sports talking buddy, Colby Frank; and a special family friend, Yvette Rivers.

Our condolences to the Frank family! May the words at Philippians 4:6-7 provide you with the comfort you need: "Do not be anxious over anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication along with thanksgiving, let your petition be made known to God; and the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and your mental powers by means of Christ Jesus." Please allow God to grant you peace!

Gonna miss Pee Wee, great big smile and his wisdom and advice. He's now at peace; no more pain, suffering or sickness. He's resting with our dearly beloved cousin, Betty in eternity. Love them both, our angels in glory. Prayers for Calvin, Dominic and the entire Frank family for such a time as this.

Leo Stanley

We are saddened by the sudden departure of our cousin's dad, Lawyer Frank, husband of the late Betty B. Frank. God shall wipe every tear from their eyes...And weeping may endure for a night, but Joy comes in the morning, for He shall turn our mourning into gladness, give us peace in our misery and heal us in every place we hurt. To Calvin and Dominic, his sons, we love you and may God strengthen you in this time of sorrow.
From The Black's Family with Leo n Leon Stanley.
Rest in Peace Betty n Pee Wee
