Obituary for Leonder Cummings Jr.
Leonder “Jiggy” Cummings, Jr. was born in Damascus, Georgia on May 31, 1948, to his late parents, Leonder Cummings, Sr. and Charlie Mae Mack Cummings. Leon attended schools in Duval County and received his education at William M. Raines High School, Class of 1967. He later met and married Diane Wooten. From this union one son and one daughter was born.
Leon served in the United States Army from 1968 to 1970. He was a loyal and dedicated employee of Overnite Transportation (UPS) for 30 years where he retired. Leon was preceded in death by brothers, Murray Lee Cummings and Sammy Charles Cummings, and sister, Carolyn Murray.
He leaves to mourn his passing: wife, Diane Cummings; children, Darrell (Angie) Scales, Lakesha Cummings, and Kevin Cummings; grandchildren, Tierra Scales, Darrell Scales Jr, Ashley Scales, Kayla Spikes, Tearra Cummings, Tamear Cummings, Corey Spikes, and Damien Cummings; Four great grandchildren; siblings, Arthur Cummings, Denise (Terrence) Phelps; and a host of other relatives and friends.
