Obituary

Deacon Leroy Coleman was born in O’Neil, Florida on June 10, 1942 to his parents, Mary Benjamin and Reverend Willie N. Coleman, Sr. He graduated from Peck High School in 1961.

Leroy committed his life to Christ on July 12, 1985 and has served as a Deacon for the Church of God By Faith, Inc. for more than 28 years. He married Doretha Coleman on May 5, 1987.

Leroy was called home on Sunday, October 18, 2020 and was preceded in death by his brother, Clyde Benjamin (Penny); and two daughters, Velda Coleman and Gina Coleman.

He leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife, Doretha Coleman; adored children, Herbert Bronner, Earl Coleman, Amy Austin, Marcus Sanford, Angle Warren, Patricia Coleman, Angel Coleman, Frank Wilson, Eric Cobb, Sr. and David Cobb, Jr.; beloved siblings, Deacon Willie Coleman, Jr. (Judy), Lillie Mae Melton, Deacon Larry Coleman (Jacky), Ronald Coleman (Darlene), Carlton Coleman, Melvin Benjamin (Cynthia), Bishop Thomas Coleman, Sr. (Donnice), and Robert Coleman, Sr. (Annette); and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The funeral service for Leroy Coleman will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, October 24th, 2020 at the Samuel C. Rogers Jr. Memorial Chapel 4315 N. Main Street Jacksonville, FL 32206. The visitation will be 5:00 - 7:00 pm, Friday, October 23rd, 2020 at the Funerals by T.S. Warden 4315 North Main Street Jacksonville, FL 32206. Interment in Oneal Community Cemetery.
