Obituary for Leroy Lockwood Jr.
Mr. Leroy Lockwood, Jr. was born on October 28, 1959 in Fort Myers, Florida to Leroy Lockwood, Sr. and Lizzie Mae Thomas. He confessed Christ at an early age, uniting with the Church of God of Prophecy. He received his education in the public schools of Fort Myers, Florida. Leroy had four amazing children, Latricia, Sierra, Sharosa and Leroy.
Leroy also known as “POP” was very strong, outspoken and independent. Pop made sure he left an impression with you after he left your presence. He later relocated to Jacksonville, Florida with his family to continue his career in roofing. He was a member of Church of God of Prophecy in Jacksonville, Florida. Leroy loved to work and was a hard worker. He loved taking care of his family, going to the beach and traveling to see his family in Fort Myers, Florida.
Leroy departed this life on Sunday, June 3, 2018. He was preceded in death by his father, Leroy Lockwood, Sr.
Leroy leaves to cherish his memories: mother, Lizzie Mae Thomas; three daughters, Latricia Lockwood Cannon (Andre), Sierra R. Lockwood and Sharosa L. Lockwood; a son, Leroy Tobias Lockwood; siblings, James Caldwell, Vanessa, Glori Gean Thomas, Lorenzo Lockwood, Allean Lockwood, John Henry Banks, Arthur Lee Banks, Rufus Banks, Felish Stafford Arthur, Valarie Lockwood and Linda Lockwood; grandchildren, Quantral Cannon, Andre Cannon, Drequan Cannon, Drequaris Cannon, Davaris Cannon, Jimmia Flanders (Harmony Flander), Toby Nelms, Jr., Tobias Nelms, Tobari Nelms, Ti’Zion Lockwood, Tobian Nelms (Alexia Av’YaVasquez) and Yorel Lockwood; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
