Obituary for Linda Renee Sistrunk
Linda Renee Sistrunk was born on Dec 24, 1960 in Jacksonville, Florida to Daisy Lee Woodberry and Ernest Sistrunk, Sr. She grew up on the Eastside graduating from Andrew Jackson Senior High School, Class of 1978. She attended Florida Junior College and JOIC before starting her career at Shands Medical Center where she stayed for 27 years. After that she worked for the Duval County School Board for another 5 years before retiring. She dedicated her life to Christ at an early age and was committed to her spiritual journey with grace. Linda will always be remembered for her fun loving attitude, her genuine smile and laughter and her love for family gatherings.
Linda departed this life for a better one on Sunday January 3, 2021. She was proceeded in death by her paternal grandparents, Lenzy Joe Sistrunk (Joe) and Ozola Mae Sistrunk (Ms. Duck); her maternal grandparents, Tom Cason and Katie Lou Cason; her parents, Ernest Sistrunk Sr. and Daisy Lee Dixon; her special aunt, Lula Mae Sistrunk; and first cousin, Charles Quaintance Jr.
Linda is survived by her daughters, Chartell R. Deloney, Wileshia N. Bryant, and Lineshia N. Bryant; special friend, William N. Bryant Jr.; her grandchildren, Lorielle A. Foster, Brielle N. Brown, and Breion T. Brown Jr.; her bother and sister-in-law, Ernest D. Sistrunk and Diane Sistrunk; her cousins like sisters, Sheila Sistrunk Ingram, Sharon Sistrunk; and her favorite ride or die for life, Donna Sistrunk.
Linda leaves behind to mourn: her nieces and nephews, Edward Toby, Crystal Toby, Ernisha Sistrunk and Ernest Elijah Sistrunk III; her surviving aunt, Addie L. Taylor; her best friend, Patricia Clemons; and a host of many sorrowing cousins and friends.
The Memorial service for Linda Renee Sistrunk will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 8th, 2021 at the Samuel C. Rogers Jr. Memorial Chapel, 4315 North Main Street, Jacksonville, Florida 32209.
