Obituary for LONNIE Charles WRIGHT

LONNIE Charles  WRIGHT
Lonnie was born in Thomasville, Georgia to John L. Wright and Mary F. Wright on August 18, 1947. Lonnie served 25 years in the United States Marine Corps, retiring as a Staff Sgt. He was employed by US Gypsum Plant for 27 years before retiring in 2008. Lonnie was a dedicated member of Friendly Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. B.H. Hartley He leaves a legacy of love, honesty, honor and hard work.

Lonnie passed away Friday, August 4, 2017 in Jacksonville, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents, John L. Wright and Mary F Wright.

Lonnie is survived by his wife of 38 years, Diane Wright; sons, Vernon C. Wright (Shakira), Tyron A. Wright, Cameron J. Wright, and Alonzo C. Wright; siblings, John Wright (Miracle), Larry Wright (Valeria), Lorenzo Wright (Crystal), Lawrence Wright (Frankie), Linda Anderson, Wendell Carr (John), Sylvia Wright and Edward Wright (LaFrenchie); grandchildren, Shalesia, Vernesia, Gailesia, Waunyea, Kalon, Tyron II, Josiah, Isabel, Timia, Anderson, Legend, Fortune and Vernon II; 7 great-grandchildren; and a devoted daughter-in-law, Tycee Wright; two longtime friends, Michael Whitmore and Edward Livingston; a host of nephews, nieces and friends.

The funeral service will be held 11:00 am FRIDAY, August 11th, 2017 at the Samuel C. Rogers Memorial Chapel 4315 North Main St. The visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
