Obituary for Marcia La'Joyce Harvey

On April 30, 1966, Kenneth Harvey and Marion Daniels Speights created a beautiful baby girl that would change lives forever. This unselfish, kind, and generous woman was Marcia Lajoyce Harvey. Marcia was the oldest of two siblings. She graduated from Englewood High School. She was employed with the Florida Department of Children and Family as a Social Worker for over 15 years.

Marcia was a highly devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and cousin. She was a strong phenomenal, compassionate, caring woman, always willing to help others no matter the circumstances. One thing we all know about Marcia, she didn’t play about all of her kids. She was known as the neighborhood mom and giving back to the homeless.

On Tuesday, March 14, 2023, Marcia answered the call of our heavenly father joining her parents, Marion Daniels Speights and Kenneth Harvey. She leaves loving memories for her four children: Romelle Harvey, Yazmin Faison, Roland Ball II, and Maurice Ball. Also cherished by her two siblings, Aqueelah S. Ross, and Anthony Harris; nieces and nephews, SaQhylah, Kaileigh, Zachariah, Dominick, Juwan, Destiny, Donte, Antoneshia, and D ‘Angel; and her grandchildren Kha’lani, Me’lani, Roland Ball III. Special acknowledgement to Altonia Ross, her cousin, that was like a brother.
