Mrs. Margaret Maggie (Merrell) Nolton, daughter of Mitch and Maggie Merrell was born on October 21, 1934 in Dooling County, Georgia. She received Christ at an early age in Georgia. Margaret relocated to New Jersey, There she joined New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church and served for over 40 years. Mrs. Nolton joined Philadelphia Baptist Church in 2013 upon relocating to Jacksonville, Florida.

Margaret was employed with singers MFG and Johns Hopkins for 35 years, until she retired. Margaret was a wonderful helpmate, strong solider, great provider, and a caregiver to her family and friends. She always knew how to make you laugh and no doubt, she always spoke her mind.

On Tuesday, July 18, 2017, God called Margaret home to rest and spend eternity with Him.

Margaret is survived by her husband, Zebdie Nolton; two children, Larry Nolton and Vernell Nolton Griggs (Johnnie); eight grandchildren, Lisa Reynolds, Kimberly Jones (Jabaar), Kenisha Blount, Taiesha Nolton, Rena Smith, Michelle Smith, Ishmael Medley (Cicely) and Johnel Griggs; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives; and a childhood friend, Viola Burnum.

The funeral service for Margaret Maggie Nolton will be held 11AM Friday, July 28th, 2017 at the Philadelphia Baptist Church 5577 Moncrief Road. Interment in Edgewood Cemetery.
