Martha Higgins, was born on January 27, 1936 in Palatka, Florida to Aileen and Neil Monroe. She moved to Jacksonville, Florida, where she attended the Duval County Public Schools, graduating from New Stanton High School.

Martha was a life time member of Triumph The Church and Kingdom of God in Christ. She was business minded and went on to become an Entrepreneur, owning various businesses, a Daycare, Lawn Maintenance and Janitorial Services.

Martha leaves to mourn, her children, Jackie, Jessie (Tisha), Richard (Shane); sisters, Mattie, Ruthamae, Dorothy and Baragene; grandchildren, Terrence, Tavares, Trey, Martneshia, Richard Jr., Ryan and Jasmine, and a host of nieces, nephews and other great grandchildren.
