Obituary for Mary Nell Corley

Sister Mary Nell Corley was born on April 6, 1932 in Bartow, Georgia to the late Tim and Bell Warthen. She gave her life to Christ at an early age. She was a school teacher for Pinetucky, Georgia School System.

Mary later met and married Darvin Corley in Swainsboro, Georgia. From this union six sons and three daughters were born. She relocated to Jacksonville, Florida with her husband and kids in 1958. She was a Sunday School teacher and very active member of her church. She was employed by the Duval County Public School System for over 30 years, where she later retired.

Mary was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband, Darvin Corley; and her four sons, Abdul Malik Fared, Wilbert Warthen, Bruce Bryant, and Tony Corley.

She leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Melvin Worthen and Edward (Deborah) Worthen; three daughters, Lavern Worthen Burroughs, Emma (Eddie) Watson, and Debra Corley Young; one loving sister, Annie Mae Daniels; 33 grandchildren, Clinton Wilson, Anika Warthen, Shanta Silas, Michael Goff, Malik Warthen, Mercedes Moore, Nashid Fareed, Nadirah Fareed, Major Fareed, Taji Fareed, Tina Montaque, Tanyika Bryant, Brenda Bryant, Bruce Bryant Jr., Terrence Worthen, Zerlina Griner, Tracy and Tijuan, Edward Worthen, Maurice Byrd, Derek Worthen, Dearyl Worthen, Kiara Leggett, ShaRanda Worthen, Freddie Worthen, Nikie Corley, Rashida Noisette, Darvin Noisette, Eddie Watson, Eddrena Watson, Tameka Corley, Jarvis Young and Jartesha Young; 95 great grands and 30 great great grands; Her babies, LaDerrius (Bubba) Wilson, Devin (Bam) Scott, and Jeffrey Zeigler; three godsons, Ken Johnson, Marvin Cohens, and Tyrone Williams; goddaughter, Johnette Stephens; special friend, Lucielle Smith; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends
