Mrs. Mary Alice Elbert-Priester was born in Jacksonville, Florida on December 17, 1945 to the late Ruth Wade and Charlie Bowes. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Lee Priester; daughter, Cheryl T. Elbert; granddaughter, Jacqueline Elbert; brothers, Bill, Charlie, Jimmy, Earnest Jr., and Robert; and sisters, Wilhemina and Bernice.
Mary Alice attended schools in Duval County and was a devoted employee at St. Vincent’s Hospital until she retired in 2009. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed hosting family gatherings at her home until she become ill in 2018.
Mary Alice leaves to cherish her loving memory: daughter, Janice (William); sons, Anthony (Tracye) and James (Gale); grandchildren, Stannisha, Mario, Sherika, Bianca, Anthony Jr., Brandii, Oterra, and Shatia; great-grandchildren, Shazijyah, Ennoscence, Zha’hirri, Zhay’ceion, Zaihyon, Damien, Rashid, and Rhaya; siblings, Ernestine (Paul), Ruth Ann, Hattie, Idella (Bruce), Cornellious (Toni), and Isaac (Kim); sister-in-law, Annie Priester; brother-in-laws, Luther and Herbert; devoted friends, Gloria and May Norris; goddaughters, Connie, Rosa, and Shanika; and a host sorrowing relatives and friends.
The funeral service for Mary Alice Elbert-Priester will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 29th, 2021 at the Samuel C. Rogers Jr. Memorial Chapel, 4315 North Main Street, Jacksonville, Florida 32209. The visitation will be 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., Friday, May 28th, 2021 at the Funerals by T.S. Warden. 4315 North Main Street. Jacksonville, FL 32206. Interment in Restlawn Cemeteries South.
