Obituary for Mary Elaine Merideth (Simmons)
Mary Simmons Merideth was born November 3, 1943 in Jacksonville, Florida to the late Richard and Daisy Simmons. She was the youngest of five children. After completing her education in the schools of Duval county, she attended Edward Waters College, University of Florida and Florida A & M Univerty. She received her degree in Elementary Education in 1975. Worked in Duval county for twenty-three years as a caring teacher.
She married to the late Alfred Merideth.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Merideth and daughter, Alshail Merideth Everett and a sister, Uretha Simmons-Griffin.
Mrs. Merideth retired from Duval county school system in 1997.
In Greater Macedonia Baptist she serviced faithfully on Usher Board #4, a member of the Pastor’s Support Group, beautification committee.
Memories will be treasured by her children: Danette Carpenter (Gregory), Richard T. Ford Jr. (Dickie). Loving Grands: Sgt. First Class Rashad Ford (Melanie), Shamir Mouchahwar (Tarek), Joseph Evertt Jr, (Alycia), Jasmine Everett, Jonathan Everett. Great grands: Dae’Jeanna Ford, Jeremiah Ford, Ava Mouchahwar, Naya Mouchahwar, Joseph Everett III, Alani Everett and Jaelynn Everett, Derrick Mathis Jr. Dear Sisters Lorraine Kelly, Delores Glee and Betty Reed. Brother-in-Law Levi Griffin. A dear friend Freddie McClain Jr., Faithful Friends: Loretta Bolton, Myrtis Avery, Verdell Wells. A host of nieces, nephew, cousins, family and friends.

The funeral service for Mary Elaine Merideth will be held 11:00 am Saturday, February 13th, 2021 at the Funerals by T.S. Warden - Samuel C. Rogers, Jr. Memorial Chapel, 4315 N Main St, Jacksonville, FL 32206. The visitation will be 5:00 - 7:00 pm, Friday, February 12th, 2021 at the Funerals by T.S.
