Matilda Gwendolyn Williams was born on October 14, 1942 in Leesburg, Florida to Walter Hill, Sr. and Francis Hill. Matilda accepted Christ at the age of 14 at a church in Lake Sumter County, but attended church at Under Watchful Care Ministries. She attended school at J. R. E. Lee High School and worked as a foreman for Tyson Chicken.

Matilda departed this life on Friday, April 23, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Rufus Hill.

Matilda leaves to cherish her memories: children, Leonnorris Hill, Gwendolyn Kee (Carlos), life long friend, James Corbin; 7 grandchildren, Dallas, LaToya, Leondrae, Leon, LaShawn, Eric, Dontae; 8 great-grandchildren; sister, Martha S. Foster; brother, Walter Levon Hill (Mary) and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The funeral service for Matilda Gwendolyn Williams will be held 12:00 p.m. Friday, May 7th, 2021 at the Samuel C. Rogers Jr. Memorial Chapel, 4315 North Main Street, Jacksonville, Florida 32209. The visitation will be 4:00 - 6:00 p.m., Thursday, May 6th, 2021 at the Funerals by T.S. Warden, 4315 North Main Street, Jacksonville, FL 32206. Interment in Private.
