Obituary for Mildretta Antonnetta Lenina "Nickie" Chapple

Mildretta Whetstone-Chapple lovingly called “Nickie” by her friends and family was born on May 3, 1973 to George Whetstone and Sarah Whetstone in Jacksonville, Florida.

Nickie graduated from Robert E. Lee High School, Class of 1991 and later attended the University of North Florida earning a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in Education. She was a passionate teacher serving on many committees, and was recognized for her skill as an educator. Nickie was also an involved member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. and loved everything royal blue and gold. Outside of her professional life, Nickie spent time with her family and friends. She was always one to brighten up a room and had a presence that just made you smile.

Mildretta passed away to be with our Lord and Savior on August 16, 2016 at 1:30pm while doing what she loved, teaching her class of 5th grade students.

Mildretta was a loving wife, married to her husband of 20 years Michael Chapple; she was a devoted mother to her two children, Michaela (15) and Miles (6); she also leaves behind her two adoring parents, George and Sarah Whetstone; her favorite younger sister, Amanda Whetstone; many friends and family members among them is her closest, Angela Wright, Sherri Richardson, Jason Smith, Nikki Smith, Sadie Smith, Derrick-Whigham Gibbson, and Ericka Albany; the many students she has touched in the classroom, and teachers from Pine Estates and Biltmore Elementary School.

The funeral service for Mildretta Antonnetta Lenina Chapple "Nickie" will be held 12PM, Saturday, August 20th, 2016 at the Emanuel Missionary Baptist Church 2407 S.L. Badger Jr. Circle, E. The visitation will be 5 - 7PM, Friday, at the mortuary. Interment in Gethsemane Memorial Gardens. Please sign the family guest book and view the video tribute @ www.tswarden.com.
