Morris Shuman was born on October 10, 1930 to Aaron Shuman and Estelle Adams in St. Augustine, Florida. Morris didn’t have much of an education, when he was 18 years old he was a middle weight boxer. His career ended early because he was struck by a truck saving his daughter from being hit, which left him with severe injuries.
Morris was able to open and manage a Auto Body Shop in the early 1960’s, which he maintained for over 40 years. When he closed his shop he continued doing what he loved and started repairing outboard motors in his yard. He was well known in the community as “Mr. Kool”. He will be forever remembered and loved by those who knew him.
Morris departed this life on Saturday, October 26, 2019. He was preceded in death by his parents, Aaron Shuman and Estelle Adams; spouse, Willie Mae Moody; sons, Leonard E. Shuman, Morris Shuman Jr., Marvin Shuman, and Mark T. Shuman and daughters, Joyce Davis and Brenda D. Shuman.
