Mrs. Mozell Wilcox was born on August 19, 1932 in Bexar, Alabama to the late Ackles Lawhorne and Nellie Lawhorne. She confessed Christ at an early age and was a member of First New Zion Baptist Church. Mozell also received her education in her hometown, Bexar, Alabama.

Mozell later met and married Milton Wilcox in Jacksonville, Florida in November 1950 and from that union 3 sons and 4 daughters were born.

Mozell departed this life on Saturday, December 26, 2015 and was preceded in death by her parents, Ackles Lawhorne and Nellie Lawhorne; husband, Milton Wilcox; 2 sons, Charles E. Wilcox, Milton R. Wilcox; sister, Jewell Lattimore; brother, Ackles Lawhorne, Jr.

Mozell Leave to cherish her memories 4 daughters, Annie S. Graham (Sam), Mildred R. Rhodes (Michael), Sandra L. Wilcox, and Gloria J. Williams; 1 son, John W. Wilcox; 1 brother, Robert L. Lawhorne; daughter-in-law, Sadie Wilcox all of Jacksonville, Florida; cousin, Herbert Spears of Alexandria, Virginia; 26 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.

The funeral service for Mozell Wilcox will be held 11AM, Tuesday, January 5th, 2016 at the Greater Refuge Temple 1317 Rowe Avenue. The visitation will be 5 - 8PM, Monday, at the mortuary.
