Obituary for Pastor Lareese Japell Fields Sr.

Lareese Japell Fields, Sr. born to the late Pollie Ann Fields and Sylvester Rawls in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

Blessed with a good foundation, nurtured and raised in a faith-filled home. From an early age, instilling good human virtues and moral value was paramount. Lareese was the Energized Bunny Life of the Party! In his youth, he attended John Harris School in Harrisburg, and attended The House of God Ministry under the leadership of Rev. Karen Johnson. Maturing at the age of thirteen, he started his first job. In 1990, he attended Woodstock Maryland Job Corps receiving his degree in Electrical Wiring. ANYTHING he did, he had such a zeal and passion to excel. “Play Hard, Work Hard” His lifelong thirst for knowledge led him to follow his military dad (Big Watts) to Jacksonville in 1991. And as always, he went straight to work as a forklift operator at the Naval Base with his aunt Diane.

People’s Person
Those who knew and loved Lareese knew that he was kind hearted, anointed, genuine, and helpful. He would always add spice to every situation literally giving you the shirt off his back.

“The Winn Dixie Trip Down the Sugar Aisle” In 1993, Lareese and God had a little talk. He KNEW he was on a mission to find his good thang on aisle #9 on Roosevelt Blvd., he met the love of his life, Kathleen B. Fields. To treasure wonderful memories, they married July 23, 1994 at her home family church, St. John Baptist, Rev. LC Clark, Napoleonville, Louisiana. They share three wonderful children, Staff Sergeant Lareese Fields, Jr, USA, Retired, Joshua (CDL Truck driver), and daddy’s girl, LaReesha (Business). Family values! He did not play about those Fields kids! The legacy of their father lives on with the help of our Lord and Savior. The BEST thing that could’ve happened was having their two precious grand boys a day apart, DJ (Doddie) and Josh Jr (Chocolate). Boy did he spoil those two. It melts his heart to hear them say, hey Papa!! He’d immediately go and buy them skittles and take them to the park often.

Pastor Fields was a father to many, especially his sister Kimberly, his nieces Destane, Jewel Ann and Ariel; God daughters; Danyle Carter and Tiffany West, Godson; James Mausby and David Marshall, and his Spiritual daughters: Leslei M. Underwood and Liddy Roberts.

His Godfearing Proverbs 31 wife, Kathleen, invited him to The Potter’s House one Sunday and his life had not been the same. He found Christ for REAL this time in 1996 literally baptized three times at the Potter’s House under the awesome leadership of his (Pops) Bishop Vaughn McLaughlin. Pastor Fields served in the Helps Ministry working alongside Bro. Jack in the multiplex’s game room, witnessing to many at the Salvation Army with Leon Oliver, and later transitioned to assist Pastor Kirk at New Life CF where he became a license minister of the gospel in 2005 and an ordination ceremony in 2006. He’d say as his Bishop, If God Can Save Me, He Can SAVE Anybody.

Pastor Fields has over 25 years in restaurant management, contractor for Sun State Enclosures, owner operator for L & J Trucking, attended the JTS Theological Seminary, inducted as the National Chaplin for the Republican Party for two years here in Jacksonville, and was a Mentor for the PUSH Project Pastor/Founder of Chosen Vessels Christian Fellowship and Academy 2006-2015, where lives were changed and souls were saved! CEO/Founder of Club PraiZe, 2012-2014, last employer was U-Haul, Field Relief Manager.

“Death leaves a heartache no one can heal; loves leave a memory no one can steal.”
