Obituary for Reynaldo Ashanti Hicks
The late Mr. Reynaldo Ashanti Hicks was born on November 11, 1994 in Jacksonville, Florida. He attended the public schools of Duval County until 2010. In 2010 he moved to Lake Park, GA and he graduated from Lowndes High School in 2013. Reynaldo attended Valdosta State University and earned a B.A. in Theater Production in 2017. After graduation from VSU, he joined the Walt Disney Company as a Production Technician in the Entertainment Division.
At the age of eight, Reynaldo accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized at Light of the World Christian Center. He was an active participant in the youth and usher ministries. After relocating to Georgia, he united with the Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church in Valdosta, Georgia.
On Friday, October 2, 2020 in Orlando, Florida, he answered the master’s call. He leaves a very devoted family to cherish his memories: parents, Charles and Talena Hicks; one brother Xavier Hicks (Breauna Tyson); sisters, Monique Hicks and Keisha Hicks, Rochester,N.Y.; grandfather, Charles Gomez, Abbeville, GA; Godparents Evelyn Ransom (Harold) Jacksonville, FL; great aunts, Jerri Brevard (Archie) Abbeville, GA and Odessa Butler, Abbeville, GA; aunts, Edith Lightfoot, Atlanta, GA and Helen Robinson, Albany, GA; and a host of cousins, among them Edythe Ransom, Roger Ransom Sr., Roger Ransom, Jr, Brian Ransom, Sr., Brian Ransom, Jr., Stephen Lee, and Dante Ransom.
The funeral service for Reynaldo Ashanti Hicks will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, October 10th, 2020 at the Evergreen Cemetery 4535 Main Street Jacksonville, FL 32208. The visitation will be 5:00 - 7:00 pm, Friday, October 9th, 2020 at the Funerals by T.S. Warden 4315 North Main Street Jacksonville, FL 32206. Interment in Evergreen Cemetery.
