Robert Elliot Blue, Jr. affectionately known as “Bobby” was born August 11, 1968 to Bettye Jean Lampkins and Robert Elliot Blue, Sr. in Fernandina Beach, Florida. He accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age at the First Missionary Baptist Church of Fernandina Beach under the pastorate of the late Rev. Robert Flagler.
Bobby was educated in the local school system of Nassau County and was a 1987 graduate of Fernandina Beach High School. He was a superb athlete and excelled in baseball and football. Unfortunately, an on-the-field injury left him unable to pursue his athletic dreams.
Earlier in his life, Bobby met and married Beverly Thomas.
Bobby was a chef in his own right; he loved to cook and he did it well! For years, he worked in local restaurants, touching many lives with his impeccable culinary skills. Some of those restaurants were, The Down Under, The Crab Trap, The Surf and Fernandina Beach Seafood. Without a doubt, His fried crabs, crab burgers and oysters were remarkably memorable and you could not tell him his tauter sauce and baked spaghetti recipes were not the best!
Bobby loved the simple things of life. Most of the time he could be found on his post as the “11th Street Watchman” on his front porch with his binoculars close by. He enjoyed his friends and his family and had a personality like no other. You were either on his good side or bad side and you better had stayed on the good!
On February 18, 2023, Bobby traded his earthly dwelling for eternal rest. He was preceded in death by his eldest son, Tony Davis, his grandparents, Charles and Gloria Delaney Lampkins and James and Hazel Logan Blue, and his great grandparents, James & Carol Cribb Delaney.
