Obituary for Robert Lee Jones

Mr. Robert Lee Jones was born October 11, 1944, in Gainesville, Florida to the late Elmira Jones Williams and the late Eddie Williams Sr. He grew up in Gainesville, where he attended the Public Schools. In 1962, Robert graduated from Lincoln High School then joined the military and served in the United States Army for 6 years. After leaving the military he attended Florida Community College of Jacksonville and obtained an Associate’s Degree in General Education, which allowed him to start a career at Coca-Cola. He later went on to work at Nu-trend Plastics for over 20 years where he retired.

Robert came out of retirement over 7 years ago and started a new career at St. Catherine Laboure Place, where he was greatly loved and admired by his managers and coworkers because of his friendliness, positive attitude and great work ethic until his untimely passing.

Robert was called home to be with the Lord on December 28, 2019. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Alice Mae and Ida Mae Williams; brothers, Roosevelt, Eddie Jr. and Mitchell Williams; son, Anthony (Tony) Jones and aunt, Mira Williams.

Robert leaves to cherish his loving memories: children, Robyn Jones-Sullivan (Freddie), Atlanta, GA, La-Kay Cicero (Dwight), Orange Park, FL, Scotty Hendley (Sabrina), Jacksonville, FL, Victor Jones, Jacksonville, FL, Robert Parker (Darlene), Jacksonville, FL and Carla Cohen, Orlando, FL; one sister, Missionary Thelma Carter Gainesville, FL; three brothers, Eddie S Williams (Rosa), Elder Cornelius Williams (Minister Dorothy) and Minister Levone Williams (Gwen) all of Gainesville, FL; seventeen, grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, one aunt, Lucille Stacy, Archer, FL and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
