Obituary for Roy Chester Holmes
Roy Chester Holmes (Chet )was born on May 26, 1953 in Valdosta, Georgia to his parents Elijah Sr. and Helen Holmes.
He confessed Christ at an early age. Chet attended school in Jacksonville, Florida where he graduated from Jean Ribault Sr. High School.
He became a truck driver, and later an Owner Operator truck driver.
Roy then met and married the love of his life Debra. Roy departed this life on Monday April 4, 2022. Chet was preceded in death by his Father Elijah Holmes Sr. Roy leaves to cherish his memories: A loving and devoted wife Debra Holmes, children Torey (caregiver), Kodi and Shawdell. Grandchildren Keshon (caregiver), and Nyala. His mother Helen Holmes; brothers, Elijah Holmes Jr. (Gloria), Robert Holmes (Irene), and Curtis Holmes Sr.; Sister Rose Marilyn Harrell (Cleo); Mother in Law, Edith Powell; Brother in Law, Reginald Bridges; Sisters in Law, Linda Williams (Rev.Walter Williams), Carol Williams, Karen Edgerton (Deshon); Aunt, Geneva Mack; and a host of other family and friends.
The funeral service for Roy Chester Holmes will be held 11:00A.M, Saturday, April 16th, 2022 at the Samuel C. Rogers, Jr. Memorial Chapel, 4315 N. Main Street Jacksonville, FL 32206. The visitation will be 5-7 P.M., Friday, April 15th, 2022 at the Funerals by T.S. Warden 4315 N. Main Street Jacksonville, FL 32206. Interment in Restlawn Cemeteries South.
