Obituary for Ruby Stevens
Ruby W. Stevens was born on April 22, 1928, to the late Carrie L. Mathis in Hampton, South Carolina. She was educated in the Hampton County School District in South Carolina and then moved to Jacksonville, Florida. She married the love of her life, Lewis Henry Stevens, and one daughter, Argrett, was born from this union.
Ruby was employed with Duval County Public Schools for 30 years. Ruby obeyed Christ on November 10, 1981, at Northside Church of Christ under the leadership of Bro. Charlie E. McClendon. She was dedicated until her health affected her ability to attend church services.
Ruby departed this life on Wednesday, December 14, 2022. She was preceded in death by her mother, Carrie L. Mathis.
Ruby leaves to cherish her memories, daughter, Argrett Anita McCants; granddaughters, Tonia (Clayton) Gadson, Sabrina (Reginald) Stargill, and Brittani (Brian) Whipple; great-grandchildren, Jaiden Whipple, Jaila Whipple, and Oscar Stargill; and a host of other relatives and friends.
