Samantha Louise Gaines was born December 26, 1970 in Jacksonville, Florida to the late Samuel and Frances Jiles. She confessed Chist at an early age and was baptized at Trinity Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Florida. Samantha received her education at Robert E. Lee High School and in August of 1989 she welcomed a baby boy. She later married Ryn L. Gaines whom she shares two daughters with.

Samantha was known for her kind and nurturing spirit. She would give her last to anyone in need and always lend a helping hand in anyway that she could. She loved and cherished her grandchildren the most as they meant the world to her. Over the years Samantha made many friends that will truly love and miss her.

Samantha departed this life on Monday, January 23, 2023. She was preceded in death by her father, Samuel B Jiles II; mother, Frances C. Jiles; paternal grandparents, Sam B. Jiles and Louise Jiles.

Samantha leaves to cherish memories with her only son, Melvin Springs (Jada); daughter, N’Dea Gaines (Isabell); daughter, Alisa Gaines; 11 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson; 7 siblings, Terrance Taylor, Gloria Watson (Kevin), Linda A. Hudson (Joe), Lisa Huggins (Rondoll), Christine Horace, Samuel B. Jiles III, and Frances Cintron (Clarence). She also leaves to cherish memories with her loving best friend, Monica Jackson; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
