Obituary for Sharon Elaine Brown (Jones)

Sharon Elaine Jones Brown was born on August 5, 1957 to Rev. John W. Jones and Lucille Dorothy Calhoun Jones. Sharon was the ninth child. She was a member of Mt. Zion in Greenland and later became a member of Family Mission of Love Ministries in Jacksonville, Florida.

She was a graduate of New Stanton High School, Class of 1976. She went on to study to be a CNA and worked for several different companies before becoming ill and retiring early.

Sharon married Stevens Douglas Brown on June 1, 1992 in Jacksonville, Florida. Together they loved and nurtured a son, Walter Jones-Brown; special sons, Devin Jones and Kevin Jones; and daughters, Nicole Curry and Ethel McClendon.

Sharon was a loving wife, mother, aunt, sister and friend. She departed this life on Sunday, February 14, 2021 and was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, John W. Jones, Jr., Gertrude Stephens, Walter Jones, Barbara McGriff and Deborah Moore.

Sharon leaves cherished memories with her loving husband, Stevens Brown; son, Walter Jones-Brown; special sons, Devin Jones and Kevin Jones; and daughters, Nicole Curry (Larry Sr.) and Ethel McClendon; grandchildren, Cocoa Battle (Chris), Roy Sanders (Ineshia), Tenyia Curry, and Larry Curry, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Yanaye Bright, Cecil Burney, Makai Hodges, Chayse Hodges, Royale Sanders, and My’Liah Hodges; sister, Rosanna McCollars; brothers, Albert Jones and Harry Jones; sisters-in-law, Gina Jones, Crystal Jones, Elouise Jones, Maxine Jones, and Annette Brown; brothers-in-law, Dexter Brown, Bruce Brown, and Sylvester Carter; God sister, Cynthia Kendrick; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The funeral service for Sharon Elaine Brown will be held at 10:00am Saturday, March 6th,2021 at the Samuel C. Rogers Jr. Memorial Chapel, 4315 North Main Street, Jacksonville, Florida 32209. The visitation will be 5:00pm - 7:00pm, Friday, March 5th,2021 at the Funerals by T.S. Warden 4315 North Main Street, Jacksonville, FL 32206. Interment in Restlawn Cemeteries South.
