Sharon Porter Gray was born July 24, 1961 to the late Mr. Freddie and Ernestine Porter. Sharon was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida and attended the Duval County Schools. A proud alumni of Jean Ribault Senior High School, home of the Mighty Ribault Trojans, Class of 1979.

Sharon’s greatest treasure was working with adults in the field of behavioral health. Sharon never knew a stranger and everyone that she encountered was forever changed. Sharon was a fire filled praiser and one of her joys was singing in the choir and working with the youth.

Sharon departed this life on July 19, 2019. She was preceded in death by her father, and oldest brother, Carey Porter.

Sharon leaves to cherish her loving memory: a devoted husband of 27 years, John Gray; brothers, Fredrick Porter and Bruce Porter (Marva); sisters, Vanessa Boyd, Belinda Jamison (Heber), Sheila Porter, Sarastine Monroe, and Beverly Edwards-Pollock; god-parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gallon; godchildren, Rakeem MacArthur and Felice Laster; very special friends and mentors, Martha and Dianna Greathouse; a host of cousins, nephews, nieces, friends, and the Class of 1979 Trojans.
